Dissipating our energy over nothing

My generation who did not see clearly the happenings during the Nigeria-
Biafria civil war know that the Carmel will pass through the eyes of the needle
for an Igboman to become the president of Nigeria.



The Hausas started killing the Yorubas in the late nineties when members of
OPC dealt severely with an Hausa lady who dared to come out on a night when
the Yoruba masquerade were patrolling the streets in Shagamu. As it was a
taboo in Yorubaland, the Yorubas killed the young Hausa lady. In retaliation,
the Yorubas in Kano were singled out of their residence and killed.

The OPC group in Tincan Island teamed up in 2001 to fight the Hausa
domination of the Nigerian ports. That day, about five Hausa men lost their
lives. That fight spread to Coconut and every part of Ajagule. Alamageris seeing
trailer loads of corpse from Lagos went on rampage and killed the Yorubas in
turn.

I can relate with a Yorubaman because I know when trouble comes, he might
not be bold enough to face me, start a little quarrel with an Hausa man and see
what he would do next. I can still make the Yoruba man to say yes even though
he might change his mind under the slightest pressure, the Huasa man
believes in crude force and will never say yes because he has his dagger and
charm inside his babariga.

The most dangerous men in the Nigerian police force are from the core North.
The kill and go soldiers, those they call 1,2,3 soldiers and mobile police are all
from Hausaland. These men don't know how to spell their names, the only
language they understand is kill, main and set villages ablaze.

When the North conspired to make Obasanjo the Nigerian head of state, they
thought the guy was going to be their boy robot. In the military, police, customs,
Immigration and prisons, there are positions and posting strictly reserved for
the Northerners. If you are from the East, you can only end up at a certain rank
in these forces. When Obasanjo became the head of state, they thought he was
going to maintain the status-quo. The guy beat them in their own game as a
typical 'Ngbati' man.

Obasanjo appointed an Okene man as the Chief of Army staff. He also
appointed his bosom friend Theo.Danguma as his defense chief. Balogun a
Yoruba man became his Inspector General of Police. An Igbo sister became the
Comptroller general of Immigration, a position reserved for Ndi Hausa's. A
Southerner became also the acting comptroller general of Customs. Sacrilege!

The man change the military postings and made the Hausas powerless in all
these forces,the military,air force,police,SSS,navy and DMI. The Hausa's
through the Sultan of Sokoto started crying foul when they realized the man
had 'Encroached' on no- go- areas. Late Wada Nas started attacking the man
openly till he kicked the bucket.The Hausa  started shouting that they are
being marginalized!

Africa is blessed with men who when they taste power will do anything to
remain there until they are forced out or killed.Obasanjo like most African
leaders will end up someday in the belly of the tiger. The Yorubas never loved
the man. Obasanjo still remained the only man who could not win an election
in his village to become a president. It was the Hausas who made him the
president.If he now works against his masters,may we all watch and see who
shall win. If the Yorubas now say they have seen the sun at the end of the
rainbow,may we with caution watch them while taking a closer look at our back.

During the Jos convention of the party, everything was going well for Dr,
Ekwueme,the northerners stood against him to rob our brother a deserved
chance.  That day you could see our distinguish elder and brother seating in
that crowd surrounded by strange bed fellows. If Ekwueme had won, he would
not muster the kind of strength Obasanjo had to deal with issues regarding the
military.Honestly,the Huasas would have killed him by now.

I have so many reasons why I cannot but watch and see how event unfolds in
Nigeria. I don't care who the sponsor of the said gathering was. May the man
continue to sponsor more of it. I am amazed at the utterances of some of us who
claimed they knew something about Nigerian politics. When I read through
their mails,I can say wholeheartedly that these men have been away from home
for too long.

Obasanjo became an activist just like you and I during Babanjida's era. He
formed an organization in his Ota farm for Better governance. That organization
attracted international attention. The man became a born-again activist and
gave an interview in the Tell Magazine where he publicly called IBB a
pathological liar.

Remember the Northerners would have still remained in power if not for June
12. Obasanjo who said publicly that his brother Abiola was not the Messiah
Nigeria was looking for, was offered this position to appease the restless West.
The Northerners don't give a damn about us. If an Igbo man had won that
election and it was annulled,  Huasas would not bleed an eyelid. They will
rather kill every Igboman including an unborn child to prove the depth of the
hatred in their against NdiIgbo.

Like I said before, let Obasanjo sponsor a gathering against the North in the
SouthEast. Did Abdulsalam not do the samething in the North when he wanted
to hand over power to him. Let him continue to dream about extending his rule.
He rode on the tiger's back to become the civil head of state of Nigeria. You
certainly know what will happen to anyone who rode on Tiger
